In June 1997 Regional
Information Technology & Software Engineering Center
"RITSEC"
launched the Global Campus (GC) initiative with the
chief aim of building a global e-learning community
through the intelligent utilization of the evolving
distance learning state-of-the art tools and techniques.
Since Global Campus determinedly understands the evolving
challenges facing higher education, it has built a flexible
framework that enables educational institutions to go
beyond campus boundaries and meet such challenges. |

The basic framework
of the project constitutes the provision of e-learning
programs and services
in collaboration with reputable institutions
utilizing the revolving distance learning state-of-the-art
tools and techniques. |
The GC have an unbridled dedication to its core mission
of delivering a high quality educational experience to a diverse
population of geographically dispersed learners. This is mainly
through the project's animated, localized, personalized, interactive,
challenging, thought-provoking e-content that provide learners
with quality hands-on, minds-on, reality-on experience
The strategic objectives of the Global Campus initiative are:
- Going beyond the campus boundaries and overcoming all barriers that might face higher education seekers like place, time, financial, familial barriers.
- Contributing to the nation's human resources and professional skill development.
- Providing first-class education globally and making it accessible to learners worldwide.
- Utilizing the existing educational courses and resources that are available globally through the use of state-of-the-art Internet facilities.
- Meeting the challenge of the 21st century and participating in building the global virtual society through the application of state-of-the-art education and information technology methodologies.
- Making the most efficient use of an institution's intellectual, technical, physical and financial resources.
